I love tracks like this - rediscovered, reworked, reanimated - given new life.
This is very relaxing, at times abstract and sound art-like, imo, which I love.
Really nice accompanying text / poem and release notes.
Lovely cover art photo as well.

about
at night there is
a silence
that comes down streets
it is a fear that people
cannot shake
it is a feeling they
cannot distract themselves from
they try and try
the same old ways they have always tried
but it feels like a rehearsal
something far detached from actually being in
the act of living
at night the helicopters fly over the city
patrolling street after street
fewer cars than usual
fewer people than usual
all the stores are empty
no one is running the registers
no one is staring at the clock, waiting to exit their shift
no one is making plans of what they will do next
when they get their real life back
we are exposed with our lack of routine
it shows that the routine
is another construction to give us order
give us a sense of duty
a sense of purpose
stay on this path
repeat this in order to incrementally climb higher
the gold bar always just a fingernail out of reach
you are almost there
almost close
its there, can you feel how close it is?
you stretch your muscles and your tendons to get closer
but just at the
last moment
it slides further away
and now you must climb again
up the mountainside
slipping with each step
all your weight pressed
into the path
and you lose your footing
and you are falling
through time
through space
through dreams
though branches of needles
through the eyelashes of past lovers
through thousands of hands that cannot catch you

Constructed using pieces of recordings made at various points between 1998-2010, found on CD-Rs with little to no information written on them, snapshots of moments in time before social media took over. Segments originally recorded on 2 track tape, minidisc and micro cassette then archived to compact disc.
cut and stitched together by Joseph Valentino, 2021 in Tucson, Arizona
fantastic sound and really captures a moment where he first progresses into percussive, tribal techno (although, most likely, unintentional). Neglectsound

This is brooding & menacing. It has a radio waves, broken transmission feel to. The featured machines haven't neccesarily taken over, but they're inescapable. Waiting. Watching. Especially love Fairway. It sounds like the ocean - but this is the waters swirling around Fang Rock, in the middle of the night. There's danger afoot. Beautiful stuff. knightd68
